TNE Korea Drops 17.6% and Slips Below Its IPO Price a Week After Debut

TNE Korea fell 17.6% on Nov. 6, 2026, closing below its 15,300-won IPO price as U.S. data center worries hit Seoul. What it makes and what comes next.

TNE Korea Drops 17.55% Below Its IPO Price

TNE Korea, a maker of air blowers for fuel cell power plants, closed below its initial public offering price on Nov. 6, 2026, its seventh day of trading on the KOSDAQ market. The shares fell 17.55% to ₩13,200 ($9.73), 13.7% under the ₩15,300 offering price, as a sell-off tied to U.S. data center worries swept Seoul.

The drop matters because TNE Korea's growth story rests on one market: on-site power for AI data centers in the United States. The stock fell more than three times as far as the KOSDAQ index that day. In the same week, a Korean brokerage named it a "blue wave" beneficiary, a stock it expected to gain from the Democratic sweep in the U.S. midterm elections.

TNE Korea trades under the code 0053F0, and some English-language reports spell its name T&E Korea. At the Nov. 6 close, its 11.35 million listed shares were worth about ₩149.8 billion ($110.4 million). Won amounts in this article are converted at ₩1,356.6 per dollar, the Seoul closing rate on Nov. 6, 2026.

First half of 2026 Full year 2025
Revenue ₩21.1 billion ($15.6 million) ₩23.4 billion ($17.3 million)
Operating profit ₩3.5 billion ($2.6 million) Loss of ₩1.8 billion ($1.3 million)

First-half revenue rose 180.0% from a year earlier and the company swung to an operating profit, Edaily reported on Oct. 29, 2026. Air blowers for hydrogen fuel cell power generation made up 36.1% of first-half sales, the largest share of any product. The 2025 figures come from the company's financial summary on the Korea Economic Daily's market data site.

"With this listing, we will strengthen our production and R&D capacity to serve growth markets such as on-site power generation for AI data centers and clean energy, and grow into a global turbomachinery specialist," CEO Park Ki-chul said in an Edaily report on Oct. 16, 2026, the day the offering price was set (translated from Korean).

Park has argued that U.S. data centers have few fast ways to get power. "Gas turbine deliveries are scheduled three to four years out, and SMRs will take time to commercialize, so for now on-site generation such as SOFCs is bound to be the realistic alternative," he told Edaily in an interview published on Oct. 18, 2026 (translated from Korean). SMRs are small modular nuclear reactors, and SOFCs are solid oxide fuel cells, which turn fuel such as natural gas into electricity through a chemical reaction instead of burning it.

Why the Shares Fell

The selling started on Wall Street. The Nasdaq Composite tumbled 5.5% on Nov. 5, 2026, its worst session in 18 months, amid "worries of a potential slowdown in data center construction following big Democratic wins in the House and Senate," CNBC reported.

In Texas, Democrat Gina Hinojosa defeated Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, the Asia Business Daily reported. "We will have laws to protect Texans, and we need to stop what we are doing with data centers until we have those protections," Hinojosa, the governor-elect, said in a CNN interview, according to CNBC.

Seoul followed on Nov. 6. The KOSPI, the main board, fell 6.02% to 5,059.69 and the KOSDAQ lost 5.03% to 644.27, the Financial News reported, citing concerns about tighter data center regulation after the U.S. midterm elections. Korean media described the Democratic sweep as a "blue wave."

For TNE Korea, the day extended a fast fall from its debut. The stock had closed at ₩16,010 on Nov. 5, according to the Korea Economic Daily's market data, and on its first day it had touched ₩34,500 shortly after the opening bell, 125.49% above the offering price, the Seoul Economic Daily reported. At the Nov. 6 close, the shares were 62% below that early peak.

Demand for the offering had been strong. In the IPO, 2,274 institutions bid for 1,041.02 times the shares set aside for them, Edaily reported, and retail investors put up about ₩5.75 trillion ($4.24 billion) in subscription deposits, a ratio of 1,253.39 to 1, according to the Seoul Economic Daily.

What the Company Does

TNE Korea, founded in 2014, makes small high-speed turbomachines: blowers and compressors that raise the pressure and speed of air. Its core technologies are air bearings, which float the spinning shaft on air instead of oil, high-speed motors and inverter controls, according to Edaily.

The company began with turbo blowers for water treatment and industry. It now also supplies blowers for hydrogen fuel cell power generation and air compressors for hydrogen vehicles, and it has signed a contract to supply power-generation air blowers to a U.S. fuel cell company, with mass production starting in 2026, the Korea Economic Daily reported. The reports reviewed for this article did not name the U.S. buyer.

TNE Korea also has a documented tie to Bloom Energy, the U.S. fuel cell maker. In December 2023, it signed an agreement with SK ecoplant, Bloom Energy and Amosense to make solid oxide fuel cell parts in Korea, and its task was the fuel cell's oxygen supply unit, or blower, Edaily reported at the time.

The plant is busy. It was running at 90% to 100% of capacity, with more investment under way to meet demand in 2027, Edaily reported on Oct. 18, 2026. The IPO raised about ₩36.7 billion ($27.1 million) from the sale of 2.4 million shares, set aside for a second plant, production automation, new air blower lines and research.

Earnings Per Share

TNE Korea has no positive earnings per share (EPS) yet, the figure foreign investors usually start with. Its 2025 net loss attributable to shareholders was ₩6.95 billion ($5.1 million), larger than its operating loss, according to the Korea Economic Daily's financial summary, which does not list an EPS figure.

Spread over the 11.35 million shares listed after the IPO, that loss equals about ₩613 ($0.45) a share, by our calculation. The reported loss per share will differ because fewer shares existed in 2025, before the offering.

Because of the loss, a price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) on 2025 results is not meaningful. The first-half 2026 operating profit is the first sign of a turn, and the company's first quarterly report as a listed company will show whether it carried through to net profit per share.

What Analysts Say

Korea Investment & Securities analyst Kim Gun-woo named TNE Korea his second pick, after Vinatech, in a report titled "Blue Wave Beneficiaries: Bloom Energy and Its Children," the Asia Business Daily reported on Nov. 6, 2026 (title translated from Korean). He forecast TNE Korea's 2027 revenue at ₩108 billion ($79.6 million) and operating profit at ₩21.4 billion ($15.8 million), assuming the fuel cell market expands.

His case is that fuel cells suit a world of tighter rules. A fuel cell plant needs no cooling tower, uses only a little water in its reforming process and can be installed on a data center's own site, the report argued, according to the paper.

The same report flagged a risk. About 1.78 million shares become free to sell one month after the Oct. 29 listing and 1.47 million more after two months, which creates a risk of share price volatility, Kim wrote, according to the Asia Business Daily.

Korea context: On its first trading day, a new Korean listing may trade between 60% and 400% of its offering price, the Seoul Economic Daily reported in September 2026. After that, the Korea Exchange's normal limit applies: a stock can move no more than 30% from its base price in a day. Institutions in an IPO can also accept lock-ups, or mandatory holding periods, on their shares; in TNE Korea's book-building, such commitments covered 29.52% of the shares requested, Edaily reported.

What to Watch

The lock-up calendar comes first. The 3.25 million shares due for release equal about 29% of the 11.35 million shares listed, by this article's calculation, and the first batch frees up in late November 2026. Our guide to buying Korean stocks from abroad explains the daily price limits and trading hours that apply when that stock comes to market.

Texas comes next. By Dec. 10, 2026, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which runs the state's power grid, and the Texas Water Development Board are due to publish the results of an audit of data center permitting and a final report, the Asia Business Daily reported.

How those rules land matters for TNE Korea in two ways. Limits on grid power and water use would support the fuel cell case that Kim made, while a broad slowdown in construction would shrink orders for every supplier to U.S. data centers, blower makers included.

Earnings are the third test. First-half sales already reached 90% of the full-year 2025 total, and the next reports will show whether air blower orders keep that pace through the end of 2026.

Taken together, TNE Korea fell below its offering price on a day when the whole market sold off, but its growth plan is tied to U.S. data center construction, and the next tests arrive with the first lock-up release in late November and the Texas audit due by Dec. 10, 2026.
